#5: The Tree of Death: Rooting Around in the Killer Tree Subgenre

Download episode here.

Episode Description: This month, Simon & Steve tackle a fundamentally ridiculous topic when they decide to go rooting around in the very small killer-tree subgenre. (Tree? Rooting? You see what I did there?) The examined films range from the serious (Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Charisma) to the not-so-serious (William Friedkin’s The Guardian) to the are-you-fucking-serious (Contamination.7 a.k.a. Troll 3). After that, they stick an arm into the Netflix Grab-Bag and come out with Ousmane Sembene’s Black Girl, which they both like for different reasons. Because they’re crazy like that.
